Baystate Health, western Massachusetts’ premier healthcare provider and home to the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School – Baystate, is seeking a fellowship trained Endocrine/General Surgeon to join The Department of Surgery, Section of Endocrine Surgery at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. Candidates must be BE/BC and have completed endocrine surgery fellowship. Candidates with surgical oncology training and strong focus and interest in endocrine surgery will also be considered.

Position Highlights –

• Join the existing busy endocrine surgery practice to further expand services at a local and regional levels.

• Clinical practice includes a combination of general and endocrine surgery with opportunity to build future endocrine presence at community hospitals. Newly hired surgeon will be expected to participate in a general surgery call.

• Enjoy a combination of clinical care & teaching. Assistant Professor faculty appointment to UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate. Teach the next generation of Medical Students, General Surgery Residents & Fellows. The surgical academic program includes a general surgery residency, minimally invasive, ACS/surgical critical care, and breast fellowships. The residency program has 7 chiefs per year. Our onsite simulation lab and robotic OR program is tied closely with the residency program.

• Strong mentorship from excellent clinical educators is available for those early in their career. Excellent opportunity for candidates in early stages of career and current endocrine surgery fellows.

Qualified applicants will be ABMS BC in General Surgery and will have completed an AAES-accredited endocrine surgery or surgical oncology fellowship. Have a strong commitment to collaboration, courage, quality and lifelong learning.

Baystate Medical Center (BMC) is a 716-bed independent academic medical center.
