Baystate Health is seeking a Trauma & Acute Care Surgeon to join our Division of Trauma Surgery at Baystate Medical Center located in western Massachusetts.

This opportunity features:

SUPPORTIVE WORK ENVIRONMENT: Collaborative multi-disciplinary team of experienced and established trauma surgeons, advanced practitioners, and specialist dedicated to your success and patient centered excellence.

ACADEMICS: Faculty appointment to University of Massachusetts Medical School-Baystate (UMMS-Baystate) commensurate with experience.

STATE-OF-THE-ART TRAUMA CENTER: Excel in a high-volume surgical program, with a significant amount of acute general surgery cases in the region’s only Level 1 Trauma Center.

The Division of Trauma manages nearly 2,000 trauma activations annually. BMC is one of the most active sites in the country for innovation. Our team of surgeons provide the highest level of trauma, acute care surgery and surgery critical care to patients of all ages. The Department of Surgery, chaired by Dr. Nicolas Jabbour, manages over 35,000 surgeries annually. The surgical academic program includes a general surgery residency, minimally invasive, critical care and surgical critical care fellowships. The residency program has 6 chiefs per year with plans to expand to 7 chiefs next year. Our onsite simulation lab and robotic OR program are tied closely with the residency program.

Qualified candidates will be BE/BC in General Surgery & Surgical Critical Care.

Baystate Medical Center (BMC) is a 716-bed independent academic medical center. BMC is our community's major referral hospital, providing the highest level of care for conditions such as cancer, acute and chronic cardiovascular illness, nervous system illness, digestive illness, and other diseases that affect the major organ systems of the body.
