Baystate Health, western Massachusetts’ premier healthcare provider and home to the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School - Baystate Health, is seeking a Division Chief of Endocrinology & Diabetes. The Division is the only academic endocrinology program with a fellowship in western Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will qualify at the rank of Associate or Full Professor at UMass Chan Medical School - Baystate. In addition, experience/expertise in growing clinical research and developing faculty to do research is highly desirable. The opportunity to enhance high-value based care throughout Baystate Health as part of our Medicaid and Medicare Accountable Care Organizations is also available.
Practice Highlights:
• Lead our team of 6 endocrinologists, 4 advanced practitioners and a strong support staff including certified diabetes educators and RDs.
• This system-wide position plays an active role in the Endocrinology Division across four hospitals and multiple primary care practices, facilitating growth and development of centers of excellence for the communities we serve in western Massachusetts.
• Baystate Health has the only academic endocrine program in western Massachusetts, which is growing from 2 to 4 fellows by 2023. In addition to fellows, you will have the opportunity to teach residents, medical students, and other learners.
• Our robust Endocrinology Division includes an American Diabetes Association Certified Education program, thyroid biopsy clinic, and a multi-disciplinary thyroid cancer program.
• There is an advanced practice provider run inpatient diabetes management program at Baystate Medical Center.
Qualifications: ABIM BC in endocrinology. 5+ years’ experience with evidence of progressive management responsibilities and leadership in an academic department. Demonstrable record of collaboration, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enthusiasm for medical education and mentoring faculty and ability to engage a broad base of potential stakeholders to work towards a shared vision.
