Newborn Hospitalist Advanced Practitioner Opportunity
Baystate Health, western Massachusetts’ premier healthcare provider and home to the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School – Baystate, is seeking a full-time Newborn Hospitalist Advanced Practitioner to join our organization.
Position Highlights –
• Join our newborn hospitalist team which currently consists of 3 pediatricians. Responsibilities include daily rounds and providing night/weekend in-hospital coverage and attending deliveries at Baystate Franklin Medical Center (BFMC) in Greenfield MA.
• The Birthplace is a level I nursery managing approximately 450 annual deliveries. The Birthplace is unique to the Pioneer Valley with the only midwife-led service with obstetrical back up for surgical interventions. The newborn hospitalist team serves as resident experts on NRP actively leading the collaborative nursing team.
• Enjoy strong collaboration with Baystate Children’s Hospital (BCH) in nearby Springfield, MA (45 minutes away). BCH is home to the region’s only level III NICU and strong subspecialty pediatric support which is readily available for phone consultation or transport services.
• NRP certification is required. Professional development and strong mentorship is available.
• Our schedule can accommodate most preferences. Currently seeking full-time, part-time and per diem candidates. Shifts can be grouped together to accommodate long distance commutes.
$10,000 bonus available to candidates with 2+ years’ experience in newborn medicine and hold NRP certification (prorated to FTE).

Qualifications: Board certified Pediatric NP or Neonatal NP. Family NP and Physician Assistants with neonatal ICU experience will be considered.

Baystate Children’s Hospital
Baystate Children’s Hospital (BCH) is a hospital-within-a-hospital at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA, and the only accredited children’s hospital in the region delivering a higher level of care to infants, children and adolescents. Equipped with 110 beds, including 57 bassinettes and the most advanced medical technologies, BCH provides more than 50 inpatient and outpatient services including children’s primary care, as well as subspecialties including behavioral medicine, cardiac care, diabetes, endocrinology, gastroenterology, nutrition, genetics, infectious diseases, pulmonology, neurology and surgical services. Additional pediatric conditions such as dermatology, rheumatology, weight management and eating disorders are also treated at BCH.
Baystate Children’s Specialty Center, located in Springfield, is home to 13 outpatient clinics. The new state-of-the-art building was designed specifically to enhance the patient experience, from its warm and colorful waiting room to the exam rooms designed to encourage excellent multi-specialty collaboration.
Additionally, BCH is a proud partner of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, and features a unique Specialty Center. The Specialty Center is more like a children’s museum and colorful playhouse, enabling us to provide compassionate care in a more comfortable and engaging environment.
