Director, Advanced Practice Providers
Baystate Health, western Massachusetts’ premier healthcare provider and home to the University of Massachusetts Medical School – Baystate, is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Leader to join our organization in western Massachusetts.
Position Highlights –
- Lead a team of 350+ advanced practice providers (APPs) across our integrated health care system. The organization includes our 700+ bed academic medical center, 107-bed children’s hospital, 3 community hospitals and 90+ outpatient practices.
- Provide strategic leadership for APPs which include nurse practitioners, physician assistants, clinical nurse specialists and certified nurse midwives.
- Represent the interest of APPs at the senior leadership team level. This position will hold a board seat on the Baystate Medical Practices Board of Directors with voting rights and will be a member of the medical executive credentials committee.
- Function as the primary resource for APP recruitment and retention, scope of practice, utilization and collaborative models of care, credentialing and privileging.
- Cultivate and foster the development of the APP Supervisors and their evolving roles.
- Collaborate with the office of student affairs and our local academic partners to ensure a strong relationship and aid in student placement to meet our workforce planning goals.
- 80% administrative position.
Qualifications:
- Board certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with at least 8 years APP experience and a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in both ambulatory and inpatient settings as an APP.
- Strong foundational knowledge of state and federal regulations as well as billing and documentation practices.
- Strong commitment to collaboration, courage, quality and lifelong learning.

Baystate Medical Center (BMC) is a 716-bed independent academic medical center.
