Cardiac Critical Care Per Diem
Advanced Practice Opportunity
Baystate Health is seeking Physician Assistants & Acute Care Nurse Practitioners to join the Baystate Heart and Vascular Service. Our cardiac surgery service has a long tradition of clinical excellence and dedication to patient centered, innovative, collaborative service which has been recognized by being consistently ranked among Top 50 best hospital for cardiac care.
Position Highlights –
- Join our cardiac surgical team at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield MA providing care to our preoperative and post-operative patients. The team consists of 7 experienced APPs who work closely with a cardiac surgical intensivist, 5 cardiac surgeons, invasive cardiologists and heart failure attendings to provide outstanding inpatient care.
- Primary responsibilities include pre-op and post-op care of surgical patients in the ICU and step-down units across their entire episode of care. Busy traditional cardiac surgical program providing the full gamut of surgical procedures, robust mechanical circulatory support program with durable implantable ventricular assist devices and temporary circulatory support platforms including ECMO.
- Enjoy a high level of autonomy with 24/7/365 support from intensivists and surgeons.
- This is a per diem position.

Qualifications: BC physician assistant or acute care nurse practitioner. The successful APP will be energetic, highly motivated and ideally have previous experience in critical care of cardiac surgical patients.
