Inclusive Workplace

Baystate Health strives to ensure that our workforce is inclusive, reflecting the diverse populations we serve. Together our strengths, experiences, and thoughtful perspectives encourage innovation throughout our health system.

We support our employees through Organizational Resource Groups.

These are networks of and for employees, structured around traits that affect a person at home, work and in society—from gender, ethnicity and sexual orientation to generation or physical ability. We believe that fostering diversity and inclusion encourages employees to expand their skills and grow within our organization.

Diversity and cultural competence education help us to better understand and serve the needs of our communities. In short, what makes us different is the bond that unites us. And it’s one more advantage that differentiates Baystate Health from other healthcare employers. We welcome you for who you are.

We believe that fostering diversity and inclusion encourages employees to expand their skills and grow within our organization.

Testament to this is Baystate Health’s 2013 recognition by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation as a “Leader in LGBT Healthcare Equality” for the third consecutive year. In HRC’s Healthcare Equality Index report, we received a perfect rating for our inclusive policies and treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people throughout its western Massachusetts network, including employees, patients and their families.
