Baystate Health, western Massachusetts’s premier healthcare provider and home to the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School – Baystate Health, is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our extensive network in Western Massachusetts.
This role will work within the Baystate Medical Center Acute Care for Elders (ACE) unit – a nationally recognized geriatric care model that improves outcomes for older adult populations. Baystate’s unit is one of 43 ACE units in the US, and the only one in Massachusetts. You will work closely with the medical director to provide consultative services to geriatric patients on the 39-bed unit, along with geriatric-trained staff consisting of social workers, pharmacists, nutritionists, and case managers. The work schedule is Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm, with no nights or weekends. As an academic hospital, there are frequently residents, fellows, AP students, medical students, and nursing students on the unit, so interest in education and collaborative learning is preferred. Our interprofessional teams receive great support from Baystate leadership and other departments. The robust Geriatric and Palliative Medicine division at Baystate continues to grow and develop ways to best care for geriatric patients in western Massachusetts.
Qualifications: Board certified PA or AGACNP. 2+ years’ experience in Geriatrics is preferred.
