Pioneer Women's Health, part of the Baystate Medical Practices, is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to join our practice in Franklin County, Western Massachusetts.
Position Highlights –
•Midwifery-centered community practice with a very collaborative and experienced team of 13 CNMs, 4 physicians, excellent nurses and strong support staff. Every obstetric patient receives midwifery care, and high risk patients are cared for jointly by the CNM/physician team. We encourage shared decision making, patient centered care and physiologic birth.
•Full scope midwifery and obstetric services including water birth, intermittent auscultation, nitrous, family-focused birth plans, VBAC, twins, “Listening to Newborns”, and breastfeeding support. Our midwives deliver over 90% of vaginal births and are fist assist for c-sections.
•We provide gynecological care throughout the life span.
•We serve a wide community of clientele throughout Western MA, from Worcester to the Berkshires, southern VT, NH and occasionally northern CT. Our patients represent a diversity of populations including gender diverse, LGBTQ, history of substance use disorder, rural and medically underserved. We support the homebirth community and families accessing surrogacy or gestational carriers.

The midwives at Pioneer Women’s Health have been catching babies at the award-winning Birthplace at Baystate Franklin Medical Center since 1985. We attend approximately 500 births annually in our 93-bed community hospital, and we are the only ob/gyn practice in Franklin County. BFMC has consistently been honored for having one of the lowest c-section rates in Massachusetts. Our practice was featured in the American Journal of Nursing, Dec 2010, for “Birthplace: A Model of Collaborative Care at BFMC”.

Qualifications: Board Certified or Eligible Certified Nurse Midwife. Candidate will have interest in full scope midwifery, comfort with higher risk OB care and desire to work in a busy collaborative practice.
