Baystate Health, western Massachusetts’s premier healthcare provider and home to the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School – Baystate Health, is seeking a Geriatric Medicine physician to join our inpatient ACE Unit team in western Massachusetts.
Position Highlights:
• Join the Division of Geriatric Medicine which consists of 3 physicians and 4 advanced practitioners at the first age-friendly health system in the U.S., as recognized by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.
• Provide consultative services to the 39-bed Acute Care for Elders (ACE) unit with APP support, along with geriatric-trained staff consisting of social workers, pharmacists, nutritionists, and case managers. This unit is based at Baystate Medical Center, a 716-bed academic medical center in Springfield, MA.
• Act as an ACE ambassador to other hospital units and work to expand ACE to other system hospitals.
• Enjoy a combination of clinical care & teaching with a faculty appointment to UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate. Clinical research and QI/safety projects are available and encouraged. In addition to geriatric fellows, you will have the opportunity to teach residents, medical students, and other learners.
