Medical Director, Baycare

Baycare Health Partners, Inc., in partnership with Baystate Health, is seeking a primary care physician leader to join our organization in western Massachusetts.

We offer the experienced leader a unique opportunity to advance the mission of providing value-based care and sustainable healthcare delivery to our communities.

Key components of the position:

• Develops and implements all medical and quality functions of Baycare Health Partners.
• Works with Baystate Health to develop and implement meaningful post-acute strategy
• Responsible for developing and implementing population health and clinical strategies that support Baycare’s annual goals and objectives in the value-based environment.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to advance critical strategic matters such as business development, strategic planning, technology, and clinical integration to deliver on improved quality, outcomes and decreasing total medical expense.

Qualifications:

• Board certified physician in primary care or specialty care.
• 7+ years of clinical experience post-training with evidence of progressive management responsibilities and leadership.
• A strong record of collaboration; must possess the ability to engage a broad base of potential stakeholders to work towards a shared vision.

A physician-hospital organization (PHO), Baycare serves the four Baystate Health hospitals and about 175 medical practices with approximately 1,400 physicians in the Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts. Baycare staff provide a health care educational role, quality improvement support and resources, and managed care contracting services to its members, thereby helping physicians manage patient populations through centralized functions that no one physician practice could afford on its own. Baycare is an alliance of the medical staff and Baystate Health hospitals to collaborate in improving the quality, safety, efficiency, and sustainability of health care in our community. Baycare staff play an important role in ensuring that best practices are freely shared, practice processes are evaluated and modified as needed, decision-making is evidence-based, and redundancy is minimized.
