Located in Springfield, MA, Baystate Medical Center (BMC) is Baystate Health’s flagship hospital. BMC is a 716-bed, independent academic medical center and a training site for the University of Massachusetts Medical School - Baystate. We offer over 30 residency and fellowship programs and have recently launched our new University of Massachusetts Medical School - Baystate regional medical school campus. BMC is a major referral care center and the only Level 1 trauma center and pediatric trauma center in the area. The Department of Surgery is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with leadership experience to lead our amazing team of Advanced Practitioners.

Position Highlights –

CLINICAL DIVERSITY:  Join the regions only Level 1 Trauma Center in western, Massachusetts providing highest level of trauma, general and acute care surgery, and surgical critical care to patients of all ages.

LEADERSHIP:  Directly supervise, support and train APP’s in the Department of Surgery.  As a part of our AP leadership team you will work closely with our Director of APs to communicate system information to your team, as well as voice ideas and issues from your team to top leadership. You will also have the opportunity to work on system wide projects that support APP’s within Baystate Health. 

ACADEMICS & RESEARCH:  Participate in the education of general surgery residents, medical students, and NP and PA students.  Opportunity and encouragement to be involved in quality improvement and research activities.

3-5 years of experience in an acute care setting with leadership and clinical experience and demonstrated commitment to team building and quality improvement.  We seek a driven, creative and flexible leader.
